Isaac

Isaac has finished passing through Haiti.  There were reports of high water and flooding in Port-au-Prince.  American Airlines canceled their flights, and some roads were closed because of concern of bridges that might get washed out.  There were no problems in Deschapelles to my knowledge.  I stayed here the weekend because it was windy where I was planning to go to show movies in Gwomon.  We will reschedule those movies for another time.

Thanks for all of your thoughts, prayers and concerns for me and for Haiti.

Generic Update

ISAAC
Greeting from Haiti.  As hurricane Isaac approaches I wanted to ask for your prayer for the nation.  Pray especially for me as I'm scheduled to go out this weekend to show movies in a remote place (La Pye, Gowmon).  It includes hiking up a mountain with the movie equipment.  There may or may not be a place to show movies inside should it rain during movie showing time.  Ask for special wisdom on if I should cancel the trip or not.  May God be glorified through us no matter the weather.  You can track the progress of Isaac here...

The Night We Were Rained In Last Weekend

The Cruise
I plan to spend a few days in September with my folks in Miami.  I hope to do some shopping.  Then we plan to take a cruise together.  We are scheduled to visit Cozumel Mexico, Belize, Mahogany Bay Isla Roatan and Grand Cayman.  I plan to be gone from September 19th through the 29th.

2012 OpenMRS Implementers Meetings
I was awarded a scholarship to attend the 2012 OpenMRS Implementers Meetings in the Philippines.  I will go to represent Hospital Albert Schweitzer and the work that I have done here with our electronic medical records with OpenMRS.  It will be as much of a learning experience as it will be a sharing experience.  I plan to spend a few days after the conference seeing the country.  I also plan to stop in Seoul for several days on the way home.  I plan to be gone from October 6th through the 20th.
